Boards and bikes are the reason most people build a van in the first place. Surf poles bolt to the roof rack and carry longboards, SUPs and shortboards vertically down the side of the van, so you keep the roof deck free for solar and a fan. Surfboard hooks do the same job across the rack for quiver hauling.

Thru-axle fork mounts clamp the front hub directly to the deck - the most secure way to carry a mountain bike on a roof, and far kinder to a carbon frame than a strap-over-the-tire rack. Add the thru-axle mounting kit for the correct axle diameter and thread pitch.

Surf poles are cut per platform, so pick Sprinter, Transit or ProMaster. All of it mounts to an 80/20 roof rack.
