Want a ladder but not a roof rack? This mounts an Unaka Sprinter ladder straight to your factory roof rails.
Plenty of Sprinter owners want roof access without committing to a full rack — you need to reach the fan, the solar, or the roof itself, but you are not carrying gear up there. A ladder without a rack usually means fabricating a top mount, and that is exactly the sort of improvisation that should not be holding your weight eight feet up.
This kit removes the problem. It mounts an Unaka Sprinter side mount ladder or wheel wrap ladder directly to the OEM roof rails on the Sprinter, using the factory rails as the structural anchor they already are.

You need the factory roof rails. If your Sprinter left the factory without them, this kit has nothing to attach to and you are looking at a rack instead.

Working with it
Confirm you actually have OEM rails, not an aftermarket rail that looks similar. Factory Sprinter rails have a specific profile and mounting arrangement, and this kit is designed around it.
As with any ladder mount: load-test before you trust it, threadlock everything, and check it annually. A ladder is the one part of a van build where a loose fastener has consequences beyond inconvenience.
- Verify your rails are OEM, not aftermarket look-alikes.
- Threadlock every fastener in the mount.
- Load-test with your full weight before real use, and watch for movement at the rail.
- Inspect the mount annually and after any heavy load.

Do I need a roof rack as well?
No. The entire purpose of this kit is to let you mount a ladder without one, using the factory roof rails as the anchor.
Which ladders does it fit?
The Unaka Sprinter side mount ladder and the Unaka wheel wrap ladder. If you have a ladder from another maker, send us photos of the top bracket before ordering.
Can I add a rack later?
Yes. The kit uses the OEM rails, so adding a rack later does not conflict with it — though at that point you may prefer to move the ladder onto the rack.
