Your dog rides shotgun, not in the footwell. The Pawssenger Seat buckles onto your van’s passenger seat and turns it into a level bed platform in about a minute — then comes off just as fast when you need the seat back for a human.
We built it because every van we convert has the same problem: the passenger seat is the best spot in the van for a dog, and there is no good way to use it. A bed slides off the contoured cushion, and anything permanent costs you a seat.

Keeping your dog safe
The platform holds the bed; it does not restrain your dog. We advise a dog harness with a strap looping around the seatbelt or headrest, the same way we set it up in our own builds. A loose dog in a moving van is a risk to the dog and to whoever is driving.
How it installs
No tools, and about a minute once you have done it once. The platform locates over the front edge of the seat cushion on two hook tabs, then two cam-buckle straps pull it down against the seat base.
Slide the passenger seat fully back. The platform will not sit correctly otherwise. If anything in your build blocks full seat travel, sort that first.
Set the platform onto the seat so the hook tabs on the underside drop over the front edge of the cushion.
Drop both straps down either side of the seat and route them around the seat base frame underneath.
Thread each strap up through its cam buckle from the bottom and pull it snug. See the warning below — this is the one step people get wrong.
Push down on the platform to check it does not lift or rock, then add your bed.

Thread the cam buckles from the bottom up. Fed the other way, a cam buckle will not bite properly and the strap can creep loose on a rough road. The guide below ships with the kit.

The platform is the same for all three platforms; only where the straps pass under the seat changes.
Mercedes Sprinter — check which seat you have
This is the one fitment detail worth knowing before you start. A powered passenger seat has a motor and a wiring harness under the cushion, so the straps route around them. A manual seat has an open frame and is more straightforward. Both work; the routing is just different.

Taking it out
Release both cam buckles, lift the platform off by the moulded handle, and the seat is a passenger seat again. Nothing is permanently attached and nothing is drilled.

Will it fit my model year?
The table above lists the years we have physically confirmed. Each version should fit most model years of its platform, but the confirmed list is what we have tested ourselves rather than what we assume. Does the dog bed come with it?
No. The platform is sold on its own. A 36″ × 27″ bed fits the platform well, so that is the size to shop for.
How long does it take to install?
About a minute. It buckles to the passenger seat and comes off just as fast, so the seat converts back for a human passenger whenever you need it.
Is my dog secure on it?
The platform itself holds the bed — rubber strips on the top surface grip it, and two optional straps add stability at the front. It is not a restraint. We strongly advise a dog harness with a strap that loops around the seatbelt or headrest to keep your dog secure while moving.
Is there a weight limit?
The platform is built strong enough for dogs of any weight.
Anything I should check before ordering?
Yes — the passenger seat has to slide fully backwards for the platform to fit. If your build has a fixed seat position or something behind the seat blocking full travel, measure before you order.
