Working with it
Aim the bar before you finally torque the brackets. Park facing a wall at a known distance, set the beam where you want it, then tighten. Doing it in the dark on a forest road is not the same experience.
Threadlock the bracket fasteners. A light bar on the front of a van sees more vibration than almost anything else on the vehicle.
- Aim against a wall at a measured distance before final torque.
- Threadlock all bracket fasteners.
- Route the harness with a service loop so the bar can be removed without cutting anything.
- Re-check torque after the first long drive.
