Ford Transit Mid Roof D-Pillar Trim Kit
Reliable shipping
Flexible returns
Three pieces, factory hole alignment, under thirty minutes — and it swallows the black wire harness that runs the rear doors.
The rear door threshold is where most Transit conversions visibly fall apart. You have a factory wire harness running down the pillar, a raw metal return, and a wall panel that has to die into it somehow. Builders solve it with timber, sheet metal or nothing, and it shows every time the doors are open.
This kit is the mid-roof-specific answer: three molded ABS pieces that wrap the rear door opening on a Ford Transit Mid Roof, flanged to receive your finished wall and ceiling materials, with a channel that takes the factory harness out of sight.
Which trim kit should you actually buy?
- Buy this if you have a Mid Roof Ford Transit, 2015 or newer, and you want the rear doors finished.
- Buy the high-roof D-Pillar Trim Kit instead if your Transit is a high roof. The two are not interchangeable.
- Buy the Mid Roof Full Interior Trim Kit if you also want the front B-pillars and bulkhead done — it includes this D-pillar kit.
- Choose the finish now, not later. Raw ABS if you are painting or wrapping in-house, Matte for a finished satin black, or upholstered in Marathon Tweed.

What's in the kit
- 3-piece rear D-pillar trim kit for the Ford Transit Mid Roof
- Necessary additional install hardware
Installing it: sequence matters more than skill
The half hour GoCode quotes is real, provided you do it in the right order. Trim first, then walls and ceiling. The flanges on these pieces are designed to be covered by the edge of your panels, so if the panels are already up you are now scribing around trim instead of trimming to panel.
The harness channel is the part people appreciate afterwards. Feed the factory rear harness into the channel as you offer the piece up rather than trying to stuff it in once the piece is located — it goes in easily one way and not at all the other.
- Install before wall and ceiling panels. This is the single biggest factor in how it looks.
- Feed the harness into the channel as you offer the part up.
- Parts align to factory holes — if you are fighting it, you have the wrong roof height.
- Dry-fit all three pieces together before you fix any of them.
Questions we get asked about this part
When in the build should I install it?
Before the walls and the ceiling panels. GoCode is explicit about this and we agree: fitting the trim first lets the wall and ceiling panels land against the trim flanges, which is what produces the factory-looking joint. You can install these kits after the panels are up, but it requires modifications and additional labour, and the joints never look as clean.
Can I paint or upholster it myself?
Yes. The parts are ABS, so they take an adhesion-promoting plastic primer and then any automotive topcoat. If you would rather not, order the Matte variant, which is finished in SEM Ultra-Black to kill the shine, or one of the upholstered variants.
Will this fit a high-roof Transit?
No. The mid roof and the high roof have different rear door geometry and this kit is cut for the mid roof. GoCode makes a separate D-Pillar Trim Kit for the high roof.
What fabric are the upholstered versions covered in?
Marathon Tweed, in Grey Heather, Black or Toast. It is the same fabric we sell by the yard, so you can wrap your own wall panels to match the trim exactly.
