Rumpl Everywhere Mat - Packable Ground Mat
Reliable shipping
Flexible returns
A packable patch of dry ground. It repels sand, pet hair, odour and stains — which is the entire list of things that ruin a van floor.
Every van eventually develops the same problem: the eighteen inches of floor just inside the slider door, where wet boots, sandy dogs and dripping wetsuits all land. The Everywhere Mat is designed for exactly that patch of ground — and for the equivalent patch outside the van, where you would rather not sit on wet grass.
The functional claim is short and it is the right one: it repels sand, pet hair, odour and stains, and it packs down. That is what separates it from a picnic blanket, which absorbs all four and then lives in the trunk smelling of the last trip.
Who it is for
- Buy it for the doorway zone inside the slider, where everything wet and sandy arrives.
- Buy it for outside the van — a clean, dry surface for changing, cooking on the ground, or sitting.
- Buy it if you have a dog. Pet hair repellency is not a marketing line on a mat that lives near a dog.
- Coast Retro Rays, Ocean Fade, Geo or Forest Cabin.

Living with it in a van
Shake it out before it goes back in the van rather than after. Sand that is repelled by the mat is still sand, and it will find your floor if you fold the mat with it inside.
In our shop vans it lives rolled and clipped just inside the slider door, because a mat you have to dig out of a locker is a mat you stop using by the second week of a trip.
- Shake it out before folding, not after you get home.
- Store it where you can reach it from the doorway, or you will stop using it.
- It repels rather than absorbs — do not expect it to work as a towel.
- Rinse and dry fully before long-term storage.
Questions we get asked
Why do we stock blankets at a van parts shop?
Because we build vans and we know what actually gets used in them. A packable, wipe-clean, water-resistant blanket lives in a van in a way a cotton throw does not: it goes on the bed, over your knees at a trailhead, on the ground at a picnic table, and then packs back into a stuff sack instead of taking up half a cupboard.
Is it waterproof?
It is designed to repel sand, pet hair, odour and stains — it is a repellent surface rather than a waterproof membrane. In practice that means water sits on it and can be shaken off rather than soaking through immediately.
Can I use it inside the van permanently?
Plenty of people do, as a doorway mat. Just take it out and shake it periodically, or it becomes a place sand lives rather than a place sand stops.
