Rumpl Original Puffy Blanket - 2 Person

The two-person Original Puffy — the one that actually covers a van bed instead of covering one person on a van bed.
Two people under a one-person blanket is a negotiation that ends badly around 2 am. The 2P Original Puffy is the answer: same durable, packable, warm construction and the same DWR coating, in a size meant to be shared.
In a van it also doubles as a top layer over a duvet on genuinely cold nights, and as the blanket you throw over the bed during the day, because a DWR-coated face shrugs off the dog and the muddy boot you did not see coming.
Who it is for
- Two people, or one person and a van bed you want fully covered.
- Forest Cabin, Ocean Fade or Pyro Fade — one classic motif, two color fades.
- Solo? The 1P in solid or pattern is lighter and packs smaller.
- Cold-weather trips? Consider layering it over the Down Puffy rather than choosing between them.

Living with it in a van
A 2P packs bigger than a 1P, which is worth thinking about in a van where storage is the scarce resource. Ours lives folded at the foot of the bed rather than in a stuff sack, because folded it is a bolster and stuffed it is a bag taking up a locker.
If you are traveling with a dog, the 2P is the one that ends up as the dog’s blanket, and the DWR is what makes that survivable.
- Fold it at the foot of the bed rather than stuffing it — it doubles as a bolster and keeps its loft.
- Great as a dog blanket precisely because it wipes.
- No fabric softener when washing.
- Layer it over a duvet in genuinely cold weather rather than replacing one.
Questions we get asked
What does the DWR coating actually do?
DWR is a durable water repellent finish applied to the outer face. It makes water bead and roll off instead of soaking in, which is what makes an Original Puffy stain, dirt and spill resistant. It is a finish, not a membrane — the blanket is not waterproof, and the DWR wears down over time and washes. It can be refreshed with a wash-in or spray-on DWR treatment.
How do I wash it?
Follow Rumpl’s own care instructions, which come with the blanket. As a general rule for technical synthetics: cold, gentle cycle, mild detergent with no fabric softener, and no bleach. Fabric softener is the enemy of a DWR finish — it coats the fibres and kills the water repellency.
Why do we stock blankets at a van parts shop?
Because we build vans and we know what actually gets used in them. A packable, wipe-clean, water-resistant blanket lives in a van in a way a cotton throw does not: it goes on the bed, over your knees at a trailhead, on the ground at a picnic table, and then packs back into a stuff sack instead of taking up half a cupboard.
Will it fit a van bed?
It is the two-person size in Rumpl’s Original Puffy range, so it is sized to cover two adults. Van beds vary enormously — if you want to check it against your specific bed, send us your mattress dimensions and we will confirm the blanket size before you order.
