Pre-Cut Camper Van Flooring — 2tec2 & Lonseal

Van floors take more abuse than any surface in the build: grit tracked in from trailheads, dog nails, cooler drag, a 40-degree temperature swing every day, and constant flex from the chassis underneath. Residential laminate and click-lock vinyl plank fail here — they cup, crack at the seams, and telegraph every fastener. That's why our flooring collection is commercial-grade only: 2tec2 woven vinyl and Lonseal sheet vinyl, CNC-cut to the perimeter of your specific van. We stock pre-cut floors for the 2007+ Mercedes Sprinter (144, 170, 170 EXT, and 170 Dually), the 2015+ Ford Transit (148, 148 EXT, 148 Dually), and the 2014+ RAM ProMaster. The cut follows the cargo floor where it meets the wall or the doors, so you drop it in, bond it down, and you're done — no cardboard templates, no crawling around with a utility knife, no seam in the middle of your galley. It's the same material and the same cuts we run in customer vans in Roanoke.

How to Choose Van Flooring

1. 2tec2 vs. Lonseal — this is the actual decision

Both are professional-grade; they behave differently underfoot and under a knife.

The practical trade: 2tec2 is 5 mm, which is 2.5 mm more standing height gone and a slightly more forgiving surface for bare feet and dropped mugs. Lonseal keeps your floor stack thin and wipes down like an ambulance floor. If you're building a dog-and-mountain-bike van, we lean 2tec2. If you're building a surf/dive van with a wet gear zone, we lean Lonseal.

2. Get the subfloor right first — this material is a top layer

Neither product is structural, and neither is a substitute for insulation. The stack we build:

1. Rigid foam between the factory floor ribs (this is the layer Thinsulate kits don't cover)
2. Plywood subfloor, fastened per your framing plan
3. A smooth, fine-finish plywood face — this matters more than people expect. Both products adhere to plywood, and any grain telegraph, patch ridge, or proud screw head will read straight through a 2.5 mm sheet.
4. Pre-cut 2tec2 or Lonseal, bonded with the correct adhesive

Sand your seams and countersink every fastener. You will see them otherwise.

3. Use the specified adhesive — they are not interchangeable

2tec2 wants DAP All Purpose Adhesive Spray Grade, DAP Weldwood, or P809. Lonseal wants a two-part epoxy (#650). Using a spray contact adhesive under Lonseal or an epoxy under 2tec2 gets you bubbles, edge lift at the door thresholds, or a floor you cannot ever remove without destroying the subfloor. Do a dry fit first, roll from the center out, and let it cure before you set cabinets on it.

4. Trim, thresholds, and the edges nobody plans for

The pre-cut perimeter is the whole point, but the edges still need a plan. Slider and rear door thresholds are the highest-wear inches of any van. Our GoCode Sprinter Slider Door Threshold Trim Kit covers the over-slider transition in ABS you can paint or upholster, and installs in about ten minutes; the D-Pillar (rear door threshold) kit does the same at the back. For Transit builds, AVC Rig floor trim kits are the recommended pairing.

5. Order early — this is a made-to-order product

Pre-cut flooring is CNC-cut after your order is placed. Allow 7–10 business days before shipping or shop pickup, and longer if a colorway is out of stock (we'll tell you). Flooring goes in early in a build, so a late order stalls everything behind it. Free shipping on flooring in the lower 48.

6. Think about resale

This is the least glamorous argument and the truest one. A van with a professionally cut commercial floor photographs like a shop build and holds value. A van with cracked laminate reads as a DIY project no matter how good the cabinetry is.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does "pre-cut" actually mean — is it cut around my wheel wells and cabinets? Pre-cut refers to the perimeter of the floor, cut to match the cargo van floor where it meets the wall or doors. It's not cut around your specific cabinet layout, since we don't know your floor plan. That perimeter cut is the hard part — the interior cutouts for a shower pan or a heater duct are straightforward with a sharp knife.

Can I glue this directly to the van's steel floor? We don't recommend it. Both products are specified to adhere to plywood, and gluing to bare corrugated steel means no insulation under your feet and a floor that follows every rib. Build the subfloor.

Which is more slip resistant when wet? 2tec2's woven texture gives more grip and hides dirt better between cleanings. Lonseal's smooth surface cleans faster but is slicker with wet feet. If you're stepping in off a rainy Blue Ridge trailhead every day, that texture earns its 5 mm.

How much floor height do I lose? The finish floor itself is 5 mm (2tec2) or 2.5 mm (Lonseal). The real height cost is your foam and plywood stack — typically 1 to 1.5 inches. In a high-roof Sprinter that's fine; in a mid-roof Transit where you're counting inches of standing height, choose Lonseal and keep the plywood thin.

Do you cut for dually and extended vans? Yes. Sprinter options include 144", 170", 170" EXT and 170" Dually. Transit options include 148", 148" EXT and 148" Dually. ProMaster is available for the common wheelbases. Choose in the dropdown; if your configuration isn't listed, call the shop before ordering.

Can I pick it up instead of shipping? In-stock cut lengths and CNC cuts still need 7–10 business days of lead time before pickup. Once it's cut, yes.
