Ford Transit Rear Half-Slider Window Trim Ring
Reliable shipping
Flexible returns
Set to the Transit’s 4.5-inch factory wall depth out of the box — so on a standard build you may not have to cut it at all.
This ring is dimensioned for the Ford Transit rear half-slider opening and comes at 4.5", which is the factory wall depth on a Transit. If you are building conventional walls — insulation, furring, a 1/4" panel — there is a fair chance it lands right first time.
If your walls are thicker or thinner than factory, cut it down. The depth is deliberately generous so you can dial it in rather than shim it out.
Before you add it to the cart
- Buy this if you are fitting a rear half-slider window to a Ford Transit.
- Standard wall build? The 4.5" depth is likely to work as supplied. Measure anyway.
- Thick insulation or a deep furring system? Order the ring and be ready to trim, or check with us first.
- Sold singly — one ring per window opening.

Two ways to install it, and which one we use
On a Transit the most common mistake is measuring the wall depth at the middle of the panel rather than at the window opening. The Transit body has pronounced ribs and the depth at the opening is what the ring has to match.
Take four measurements around the opening — top, bottom and both sides — and cut to the shallowest one. You can pack a small gap behind the ring; you cannot un-cut it.
- Measure at the opening, not at the middle of the panel.
- Cut to the shallowest of your four measurements.
- Dry-fit and tape before committing.
- Upholster before fitting if you are going that route.
Questions we get asked about this part
Can I shorten the ring?
Yes, and most builders do. The rings are supplied deep so you can trim them down to the exact wall thickness you have actually built. Cut them on a table saw with a fine-tooth blade or a track saw against a straight edge, take a test slice first, and measure your finished wall from the glass flange to the face of your panel before you cut anything.
Screwed or glued?
Both work and they give different results. Self-tapping screws from outside through the ring into the wall panel is the fast method and is fully reversible — good if the panel might come off again. Glued or through-bolted from behind hides all fasteners and is what we do on customer vans, but you need to clamp it while the adhesive cures and you only get one shot at the alignment.
Does the ring hold the window in?
No. The glass is bonded to the van body by your window installer or by the window kit. The trim ring is the interior finishing collar that spans the gap between the glass flange and your finished wall, hides the raw metal and the insulation, and protects the panel edge. It is trim, not structure.
Is this the same ring as the Sprinter version?
No. The half-slider openings and flange geometry differ between platforms, and this ring is cut for the Transit. Buying the wrong platform’s ring is the single most common ordering error on these parts, so check the vehicle before you check out.
