Flexible returns
The one you actually want to sit in for an evening. Full 360° rotation locking every 45°, two rotatable armrests, contoured cushions.
The Comfort Seat is MobiFrame’s answer to the question every van build eventually asks: how do you turn a traveling seat into living-room seating without dragging a camp chair out of the garage? It swivels a full 360°, locking at every 45°, so it faces forward for travel and inward for dinner.
It has the things that make a seat liveable rather than merely legal — contoured cushions, two rotatable armrests, partial recline, and it folds fully forward when you need the floor back. It is certified to FMVSS/CMVSS 207 like the rest of the MobiFrame range.
Which MobiFrame seat is right for your build?
- Choose the Comfort Seat if the seat will be lived in as well as traveled in, and you want armrests and full rotation.
- Choose the Taxi Clip Seat if you need certified seating at a lower price and can live without armrests and 360° rotation.
- Choose the Adventure Seat if you want full recline at any angle and removable armrests.
- Choose the SAF42/43 Seatbed if you want two or three seats that convert to a bed.
- Add SafeTrack flooring if you want the seat to glide the length of the van rather than sitting in one place.
Mounting and compatibility
| Mounts to | MobiFrame floor system, or the install kit floor plate on a conventional floor |
| SafeTrack | Pairs with SafeTrack flooring systems (sold separately) for specific vans, letting the seat glide the length of the van |
| Certification | FMVSS/CMVSS 207 |
| Child seats | ISOFIX with top tether anchor points |
| Sold as | A single seat |
If you do not have a MobiFrame floor, you need the installation kit. It contains the floor plate, the anchoring and the adhesives, and it is not optional — a certified seat is only certified when it is attached the way it was tested.

The 45° locking detent matters more than it sounds. A seat that only locks at 90° increments cannot be angled toward a dinette table; one that locks every 45° can.

Mounting, freight and what to expect on delivery day
Two decisions have to be made before the seat arrives. First, whether you are mounting to a MobiFrame floor, to SafeTrack, or to a conventional floor with the plate kit. Second, exactly where — because a 360° seat needs swing clearance that a fixed seat does not.
Mock the swing radius up in the van with tape before you set anything. The classic mistake is a beautifully mounted swivel seat whose armrest hits the galley on the way round.
- Tape out the full 360° swing radius, including the armrests, before you fix the plate.
- Travel is only permitted facing forward or backward — the seat is certified in those positions.
- Use the supplied floor plate kit if you do not have a MobiFrame or SafeTrack floor.
- Freight is curbside or dock. Plan the lift.
Questions we get asked about this part
What do the safety certifications actually mean?
FMVSS and CMVSS are the US and Canadian federal motor vehicle safety standards. FMVSS/CMVSS 207 covers seating systems — the seat structure and its anchorage. A seat that meets it has been physically tested as an assembly. That certification depends on the seat being mounted the way it was tested, which is why the floor plate kit matters as much as the seat.
Can I fit a child seat?
Yes. These seats have ISOFIX anchor points and a top tether anchor. Note where the top tether attaches: the rear lower frame of the seat bottom, not the bulkhead behind it. Check the images and the seat diagram before you assume your child seat strap will reach.
Can I travel with the seat facing sideways?
No. Full rotation is for use when parked. Travel is only permitted facing forward or backward, which is how the seat is certified.
What is SafeTrack?
A MobiFrame flooring system with integrated track, sold separately for specific vans. With it, the seat can glide from one end of the van to the other and quick-lock wherever you leave it. Without it, the seat sits where you bolt it.
Is it sold as a pair?
No, it is a single seat. Order two if you want two.
