Nassimi Varick 54" Polyester / Linen Fabric
Reliable shipping
Flexible returns
The one with visible texture. Fifteen percent linen gives it a natural, slightly irregular surface that reads warmer than a flat polyester.
Varick is 85% polyester and 15% linen, and that 15% is entirely about how it looks. Linen brings a subtle slub and a matte, natural surface that a pure polyester cannot fake — useful when the rest of the van is timber and you want the soft furnishings to feel domestic rather than commercial.
The polyester majority is what keeps it practical. It still tests at 100,000 double rubs and still carries the CAL TB 117, NFPA 260 and UFAC Class 1 approvals, so you get the appearance of a natural fabric with contract-grade durability behind it.
Where this fabric belongs in a van — and where it does not
- Choose Varick if you want visible natural texture in a van with timber, rattan or other warm finishes.
- Choose Minetta if you want a heavier, more uniform surface.
- Choose Bleecker if you need maximum drape over shaped cushions.
- Choose Moxie if the seat needs to survive wet swimsuits and muddy dogs — a linen-blend weave is the wrong tool for that.
How it is sold
| Sold by | The linear yard, for colors stocked in the warehouse |

| Roll width | 54" |
| Availability | Limited stock on all Nassimi lines |
| Fulfillment | General shipping, or free pickup in Portland, OR |
Screens lie about color. Monitor calibration, ambient light and camera processing all shift what you see, and dye lots vary slightly batch to batch. Order a physical sample before committing to a whole van — it costs a few dollars and saves a repeat order. Linen-blend fabrics show dye lot variation more visibly than flat polyesters, so single-lot ordering matters more here than on the other lines.

What you receive
- Nassimi Varick fabric cut to the number of linear yards ordered, 54" wide
Working with it
Linen-blend wovens are more direction-sensitive than flat polyesters. Decide which way the slub runs across your cushion set and cut every piece the same way, or adjacent cushions will look like different fabrics under a low sun through a window.
Otherwise it sews and wraps like any mid-weight upholstery fabric.
- Cut every piece in the same grain direction — the texture is directional.
- Mid-weight: standard upholstery needle and stitch length.
- Follow the Nassimi cleaning guide; do not improvise with solvent cleaners on a linen blend.
- Order the whole project in one lot — texture and dye variation both show more on this fabric.
Questions we get asked about this part
What is a double rub, and does 100,000 matter in a van?
A double rub is one back-and-forth cycle of the Wyzenbeek abrasion test (ASTM D4157). Contract furniture is generally specified at 30,000 and heavy-duty commercial at 100,000. A van dinette gets a fraction of the traffic of an airport lounge chair, so a 100,000 double rub rating is comfortably ahead of what your build will ever ask of it.
How much do I need?
Measure each panel, add 3–4 inches on every side for wrapping and stapling, lay the shapes out on a 54" wide strip on paper, and count the linear yards. Then add ten percent. Every upholsterer we know has run out on the last panel at least once, and dye lots do not match perfectly between orders.
Does the linen content make it less durable?
Not at the level the tests measure — it still rates 100,000 double rubs. What linen does change is appearance over time: it develops character rather than staying pristine, which is either exactly what you want or exactly what you do not.
Can I get a color that is not shown?
Additional colors are available for bulk orders. Contact our sales team and we will find out what is available and what the minimum is.
