Mechanically this is the Original Puffy: durable, packable, warm, and coated in DWR so it resists stains, dirt and spills. Built for everything from the patio to the campsite.
What you are choosing here is the print. Cascade Fade, Rocky Mountain Sunset Fade, Bear Crossing and Forest Cabin all read differently in a van — the fades are graphic and modern, Bear Crossing and Forest Cabin are the more traditional camp-blanket look.

Living with it in a van
Printed synthetics fade in sustained direct sun through glass, the same way van upholstery does. If the blanket lives permanently spread across a south-facing bed under a big window, expect the print to soften over years. Folding it away during the day is enough to avoid it.
Otherwise it is the same blanket as the solid: loose storage, prompt wiping, no fabric softener.
- Do not leave a printed blanket spread in direct sun through glass for years on end.
- Store loose, not stuffed, when the van is parked.
- Wipe spills promptly; the DWR buys you time.
- No fabric softener — it destroys DWR.
Questions we get asked
What does the DWR coating actually do?
DWR is a durable water repellent finish applied to the outer face. It makes water bead and roll off instead of soaking in, which is what makes an Original Puffy stain, dirt and spill resistant. It is a finish, not a membrane — the blanket is not waterproof, and the DWR wears down over time and washes. It can be refreshed with a wash-in or spray-on DWR treatment.
How do I wash it?
Follow Rumpl’s own care instructions, which come with the blanket. As a general rule for technical synthetics: cold, gentle cycle, mild detergent with no fabric softener, and no bleach. Fabric softener is the enemy of a DWR finish — it coats the fibres and kills the water repellency.
Why do we stock blankets at a van parts shop?
Because we build vans and we know what actually gets used in them. A packable, wipe-clean, water-resistant blanket lives in a van in a way a cotton throw does not: it goes on the bed, over your knees at a trailhead, on the ground at a picnic table, and then packs back into a stuff sack instead of taking up half a cupboard.
Is the pattern printed on one side or both?
